Ce documentaire, réalisé par Didier Blandin et François Graveline, est ma toute première expérience en tant que traductrice de sous-titres. Avec le time-code du film et plusieurs visionnages, j’ai pu mettre en place une traduction des plus similaire aux dialogues. Effectivement, même si ce fut ma première expérience, après avoir vécu trois ans en Irlande et être devenue bilingue en anglais, je savais qu’il ne fallait pas faire de traduction directe.
Les réalisateurs ont fait appel à mes services notamment, car le documentaire est présenté outre-Atlantique à la fondation Oak Spring Garden, à Upperville, en Virginie, qui organise des événements axés sur Sophie Grandval. Dont a Oak Spring Garden Foundation, qui organisait début juin, à Upperville en Virginie, un événement autour de Sophie Grandval.
Mais qui est Sophie Granval, me demandez-vous ? Regardez donc le documentaire 🙂

This documentary, directed by Didier Blandin and François Graveline, was my first experience as a subtitle translator. With the film’s timecode and several viewings, I was able to create a translation that closely matched the original dialogue. Even though it was my first time doing this kind of work, after living in Ireland for three years and becoming bilingual in English, I knew that a literal translation wouldn’t do.
The directors, asked me to take on this task, especially because the documentary was being shown internationally, including at the Oak Spring Garden Foundation, which hosted an event in early June in Upperville, Virginia, centered around Sophie Grandval.
But who is Sophie Grandval, you ask?
